Tamil Nadu: In October the kharif harvest (paddy, soybean, cotton) and rabi sowing (mustard, gram, potato) run side by side. Use the dry days to dry harvested crop, and check soil moisture before sowing.
Districts with rain: Tirunelveli (53.1 mm), Kanyakumari (32.5 mm), Tenkasi (25.3 mm) and Tiruppur (23.5 mm). Spray there only after the rain stops, or it washes off.
Our rule: under 2.5 mm in 3 days = "Good for field work"; 2.5–15 mm = "Light rain — plan around it"; over 15 mm = "Rain — hold off spraying"; 64.5 mm+ on any day = "Heavy rain — pause harvest".
